As Wuquf Approaches, Officials Monitor Armuzna Readiness for Aceh Hajj Pilgrims

The Hajj pilgrimage is now hours away from moving to Arafah, Muzdalifah, and Mina (Armuzna) to perform the peak rituals. In preparation for this critical moment, officials and guidance teams are conducting intensive monitoring of on-site facilities.

On Sunday, 7 Zulhijjah 1447 H (24 May 2026), a Hajj guidance delegation from the Banda Aceh Embarkation (BTJ) KBIHU visited Arafah to inspect tent arrangements, air conditioning, sanitation, and security measures for pilgrims.

“We joined the delegation facilitated by the maktab to directly assess the readiness of facilities in Arafah, Muzdalifah, and Mina,” said Abdullah AR, a Hajj Guidance Officer from KBIHU Ibnu Mas’ud in Aceh Province, to Media Indonesia on Sunday (24 May).

Based on the inspection, Abdullah noted that most Aceh-based pilgrims, particularly those in BTJ Flight Groups 7, 8, and 9, will be accommodated in Maktab 56. Although predominantly Acehnese, the group also includes pilgrims from other provinces.

The Armuzna Task Force is also enforcing strict oversight to prevent illegal activities in the camping areas. “Monitoring is in place to regulate the area and prevent unauthorized tent plots by irresponsible parties,” added the official, known as Abi.

Abdullah emphasised that choosing between Nafar Awal or Nafar Tsani is optional and a facilitation within Islamic law. He stated that the essence and spirit of the ritual are more important than physical symbols.

“The spiritual core of the Hajj peak is achieving haji mabrur – a blessed pilgrimage. This is every pilgrim’s aspiration. A mabrur individual radiates goodness to others and remains sensitive to social conditions around them,” explained the former head of the Pidie Regency Ministry of Religious Affairs office.

With ongoing facility preparations in Armuzna, authorities hope pilgrims can perform all Hajj rites with devotion and return home as individuals who bring happiness to others. (I-2)
