As Terra Drone Boss Awaits Prosecution in Fire Case that Killed 22 Employees
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The case of the office fire at PT Terra Drone Indonesia, which is being processed in court, is about to enter its final stage.
On Thursday (7/5/2026), the panel of judges at the Central Jakarta District Court confirmed that the prosecution hearing for the defendant, Director of PT Terra Drone Michael Wishnu Wardana, will be held on Monday (11/5/2026) next week.
Michael is accused of negligence that caused the fire at his office, resulting in the deaths of 22 employees.
For information, the prosecution hearing in the case was originally scheduled for Thursday but was then agreed to be postponed.
“(The hearing) is postponed to Monday, 11 May 2026,” said the Chief Judge of the Panel, Purwanto S Abdullah, during the hearing at the Central Jakarta District Court, Kemayoran.
The public prosecutor stated that additional time was needed because the facts from the Terra Drone fire trial proceedings are quite extensive.
“We still need time to prepare the prosecution letter to describe the numerous facts from the trial. If agreeable, we request the hearing be postponed,” he requested.
After the panel of judges discussed with Michael Wishnu’s legal counsel and the public prosecutor, both suggested holding the prosecution on Tuesday, 12 May 2026.
However, Chief Judge Purwanto S Abdullah said that on that day they already had a packed schedule of other trial proceedings.
Finally, it was jointly decided that the reading of the prosecution in the Terra Drone fire case will take place on Monday, 11 May 2026.
Judge Purwanto then read out the latest adjusted trial schedule until the end.
“(So) 18th for the plea, 19th for the replication. Duplication on the 20th. Then the verdict on 21 May,” explained Purwanto.
Michael Wishnu Wardhana was seen talking a lot with his legal counsel while waiting for the hearing to begin.
Occasionally, he appeared to smile, stay silent, then bow his head in between those conversations.
