The world is currently facing an increasingly complex risk landscape. Climate change, geopolitical tensions, cyberattacks, and the rapid development of artificial intelligence (AI) are creating new uncertainties that can affect people’s lives in various aspects. Amid these conditions, preparing future generations to face various challenges is becoming ever more important.

This commitment to understanding and anticipating future risks is embodied by AXA through its Future Risk Report, an annual study conducted over the past 12 years to map the threats most feared by the public and experts worldwide. The report aims to raise public awareness while helping communities prepare for ongoing changes.

In the AXA Future Risk Report 2025, more than 25,000 respondents from 57 countries, including Indonesia, were surveyed between 14 May and 19 June 2025. The results show the top ten risks expected to most affect human life in the future: climate change, geopolitical stability, cybersecurity, AI and big data, social tensions, natural resources and biodiversity, macroeconomic risk, energy risk, financial stability, and demographic changes.

These findings indicate that today’s risks no longer stand alone. Various challenges are interconnected and can have a cascading impact on people’s lives. At the same time, the report also notes increasing social fragmentation. This condition makes many families feel they need to take a more active role in preparing for their children’s future.

Furthermore, the same report places financial stability risk in ninth position, recorded as the highest type of risk cited by Indonesian respondents. Many respondents worry about a financial system failure due to ongoing geopolitical conditions and the widening socio-economic gap. Therefore, the role of insurance becomes crucial as a provision for family protection from the impact of these risks should they occur.

“As the world becomes more complex and full of uncertainty, one of the most important things parents can do is ensure the next generation has sufficient provisions to face the future. These provisions are not only in the form of education and life values but also financial protection that can help families remain resilient when facing various risks,” said AXA Mandiri Chief Marketing, Product, and Transformation Officer Theodores Tangke.

Financial protection is becoming increasingly relevant because various global risks can ultimately impact a family’s economic stability. Economic disruptions, energy crises, geopolitical conflicts, and natural disasters have the potential to affect income, health, and a family’s ability to realise long-term plans, including children’s education and welfare.

As a protection partner for the Indonesian people, AXA Mandiri offers a variety of insurance solutions designed to help families prepare for the future in a more planned manner. The various product options offer diverse protection benefits, ranging from premium refund benefits and long protection periods to more affordable premium options, allowing them to be tailored to each family’s needs.

“AXA Mandiri’s products are designed in line with the various risks identified in the annually published AXA Future Risk Report and the evolving needs of our customers. We want to help the community build a stronger financial foundation so they can continue pursuing their life goals, prepare the next generation, and provide the best protection for their loved ones,” Theo continued.

AXA Mandiri believes that preparing financial protection is not just about managing today’s risks but also about helping future generations have the opportunity to grow, develop, and achieve their dreams amidst a constantly changing world.
