As Pramono Flaunts to Anies and Ahok: Jakarta's Old Homework Claimed to Be Cleared

Jakarta — Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung said he has resolved a number of issues and projects that had been ‘homework’ left by previous governors, ranging from access to the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS), the Sumber Waras land dispute, to the stalled monorail pylons. He made the remarks at Cap Go Meh celebrations in Glodok, West Jakarta, on Tuesday, 3 March 2026, which were attended by several former Jakarta governors. Pramono noted that the JIS stadium, built during Anies Baswedan’s administration, is a major legacy. ‘From Mas Anies, the legacy is extraordinary — that is JIS. Now JIS has transport access to facilitate,’ he said. He added that the DKI Provincial Government is now strengthening connectivity to the stadium in North Jakarta, including introducing a KRL service that will stop at the JIS area. The construction of the station is said to be finalised and targeted for completion soon. In addition, JIS is linked to the Ancol area to address parking issues during large-scale events. ‘Why link Ancol with JIS? Because the parking problem will be resolved. People only need to walk about 350 metres; all cars can park at Ancol,’ he said. The inauguration of the connectivity is targeted for May, and Pramono even hopes Anies will attend. He said the Sumber Waras land issue, which had become a controversy during Ahok’s tenure, has now been resolved. ‘I have finished what is called Sumber Waras,’ Pramono said. He added that the site is now ready for construction of an international hospital, although the official name has not yet been announced. ‘What used to be a burden, Alhamdulillah, Sumber Waras is now finished in all respects, ready for the construction of an international hospital whose name I will announce in due course,’ he said.
