Klungkung Regent I Made Satria expressed his pride in hosting the 2026 Bali Provincial Intellectual Property Rights (HAKI) Certificate Handover event. The certificate handover was attended by the Chair of the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) Steering Council and Fifth President of the Republic of Indonesia, Megawati Soekarnoputri, the Minister of Law of the Republic of Indonesia, the Governor of Bali, and BRIN executives at the Ida Dewa Agung Istri Kanya Cultural Hall on Wednesday (1/4/2026). 146 HAKI certificates were symbolically handed over to business actors and innovators throughout Bali. Of that number, as the host, Klungkung Regency dominated the acquisitions with 36 certificates. “It is an extraordinary honour that Klungkung has been selected as the venue for this HAKI certificate handover. This is not merely a ceremony, but proof that innovation in Klungkung is ready to be at the forefront in Bali Province,” said Satria. This achievement is expected to serve as a motivator for other local entrepreneurs to register their works. “We want to motivate all entrepreneurs to continue innovating and creating without hesitation, because legal protection for intellectual works is extremely important,” he added. According to him, the certificate handover is not just about copyright recognition, but also opens doors to welfare for the recipients. Entrepreneurs who have obtained HAKI certificates will receive special attention from BRIN, from ease of access to funding to business mentoring. “This HAKI certificate is a guarantee. With this, business actors have greater bargaining power and can obtain strategic support from the central government or research institutions,” Satria explained. Meanwhile, the Head of the Bali Provincial Regional Research and Innovation Agency (Brida) Ketut Wica explained that they chose Klungkung Regency as the host because Klungkung is one of the areas that serves as a centre of Balinese culture. The hope is that all intellectual wealth in the form of culture can be protected. Brida of Bali Province itself has been endeavouring to ensure that MSME actors obtain their Intellectual Property Rights certificates. There are 10,692 certificates that have been facilitated throughout 2025. “If added up to March 2026, there are already five thousand,” he added. Through this event, Ketut Wica also hopes that the public knows that HAKI processing is facilitated by Brida without any fees. “Everything is free. Previously, there were indeed fees, and this is what made many of our MSME actors reluctant to process their certificates,” he emphasised. The Chair of Brida Klungkung, Ketut Budiarta, also expressed pride in Klungkung being selected as the host. According to him, this can simultaneously serve as motivation to increase the number of HAKI certificates for a number of MSMEs. “Happy and proud to be the host of an event that is very beneficial for the community, especially MSME actors,” said Ketut Budiarta.
