ARTOTEL Suites Aquila is strengthening its commitment to more responsible hospitality practices through a used cooking oil management programme with Noovoleum. This initiative is part of a national collaboration with ARTOTEL Group to support more structured, responsible, and sustainable waste management. Previously, used cooking oil from the hotel’s kitchen operations was managed conventionally through collection and sale to collectors without further visibility regarding the final processing. Through this programme, used cooking oil is now managed more systematically and directed towards renewable energy utilisation. ARTOTEL Suites Aquila General Manager Anton Susanto stated that the collaboration aligns with ARTOTEL Group’s commitment as a hotel operator that cares about environmental sustainability, starting from its own operational environment. He noted that they are now not only managing waste but also understanding the impact and value that can be generated from the process. During certain periods, whether quiet or busy, the hotel’s kitchen operations can produce approximately 40 to 150 litres of used cooking oil. To support the programme, the kitchen team implements a more structured management process through initial filtering and a more organised collection system. The hotel hopes this initiative will continue to develop and contribute positively to better environmental management in the city of Bandung.
