Arthatel and AGP Educate Children on Smart, Safe, and Responsible Internet Use
PT Artha Telekomindo (Arthatel), together with Artha Graha Peduli (AGP), has provided education on smart, safe, and responsible internet use to children at SDN 01 Kuningan Barat, South Jakarta, through its Corporate Social Safety Responsibility (CSSR) programme.
Under the theme “Smart, Safe, and Responsible Internet: Understanding the Internet, Protecting Data, Achieving Dreams”, the activity aimed to equip children with a basic understanding of the internet’s benefits as well as the various risks to be aware of when using digital technology.
During the session, participants were introduced to the internet as a tool for learning, searching for information, communicating, and developing creativity.
On the other hand, the children were also encouraged to understand various risks in the digital world, such as fraud, fake news or hoaxes, cyberbullying, inappropriate content, excessive gaming, and interactions with strangers.
The education also emphasised the importance of protecting personal data. Children were introduced to various types of information that need to be safeguarded, such as full names, home addresses, telephone numbers, school names, personal photos, and passwords. The material likened a password to a “key” that must be guarded to protect digital accounts.
In addition to digital security, Arthatel’s CSSR activity introduced Artificial Intelligence (AI) in a simple way that is close to children’s daily lives.
AI was introduced as a technology that can help answer questions, recognise images, translate languages, and assist with learning.
However, the children were also reminded that AI is a tool and not a replacement for teachers or for the effort of learning.
PT Artha Telekomindo’s Commercial Director, Sumiro Oemar, said the CSSR reflects Arthatel’s commitment to providing positive benefits to society, particularly through digital literacy.
“As a company operating in the ICT sector, we do not only want to deliver technology and connectivity, but also to help build public understanding so that technology can be used safely, wisely, and responsibly,” he said in a statement on Friday (21/8/2026).
Through this activity, he expressed hope that children can become a generation that is smart in using the internet, able to protect their personal data, and able to use technology for learning and achieving their aspirations.
According to him, the collaboration with Artha Graha Peduli is an important part of expanding the benefits of the company’s social activities to the community.
“The collaboration between Arthatel and Artha Graha Peduli shows that technology can be a means of delivering real social impact,” he said.
He expressed hope that this kind of education will not stop with today’s activity, but can foster positive habits in using the internet and digital technology in everyday life.
A representative of Kuningan Barat Sub-district, Nena Karyati, expressed her appreciation for the education provided by Arthatel and Artha Graha Peduli to the pupils of SDN 01 Kuningan Barat.
“On behalf of Kuningan Barat Sub-district, particularly SDN 01 Kuningan Barat, I would like to thank Artha Graha Peduli and Arthatel for the service and education on healthy, smart, safe, and responsible internet use for the children,” she said.
She expressed hope that the activity will benefit children from an early age, as the internet has both positive and negative sides that need to be understood and watched out for. She also hoped that this kind of cooperation and education can continue in the future.
In an interactive session, participants were invited to play a game called “Safe or Not Safe?” to test their understanding of situations commonly encountered when using the internet, such as communicating with strangers or when someone asks for personal information.
The activity concluded with the “Promise of Smart Indonesian Children in Using the Internet”, which encouraged the children to commit to using the internet for learning, protecting personal data, respecting others, and becoming smart internet users.
Through this CSSR activity, Arthatel hopes that digital literacy can be instilled from an early age so that children are not only users of technology, but are also able to utilise it positively, safely, and responsibly.
