A subsidised market programme has resumed ahead of Eid al-Fitr to help residents obtain essential goods at more affordable prices. The initiative, organised by Electronic City in partnership with Artha Graha Peduli (AGP), features various food commodities in high demand among the public.

Lardi, Head of AGP’s Market Operations Field, said the programme represents a commitment to support communities, particularly during the festive season when food prices typically rise.

“This subsidised market programme reflects Artha Graha Peduli’s commitment to helping communities obtain essential goods at more affordable prices. Ahead of Eid al-Fitr, we have also increased supplies of important commodities such as chillies, garlic, meat, and eggs so that the public can directly benefit from this programme,” he stated.

The Artha Graha Peduli Subsidised Market Programme has been operating since 11 December 2025 and continues across various regions of Indonesia. The initiative operates around Artha Graha Network business units through Artha Graha Peduli’s service areas.

As the final week of Ramadan approaches, the programme’s coverage has expanded, particularly in the Jabodetabek region. In addition to subsidised basic goods packages, the activity includes market operations for several strategic food commodities that typically see price increases ahead of Eid.

Through this market operation, residents can purchase frozen beef at Rp 70,000 per kilogram and chicken eggs at Rp 25,000 per kilogram. These prices remain below government reference prices, helping communities meet food needs ahead of the festive period.

Additionally, AGP provides kitchen ingredient packages containing red bird’s eye chillies, curly red chillies, and shallots at Rp 50,000 per package to help residents obtain ingredients needed for Eid meals.

The subsidised market operates through direct community engagement. AGP teams conduct door-to-door distribution in residential areas to ensure subsidised commodities reach communities more closely.

RT 03 Head of Cipinang Village, Pulo Gadung, East Jakarta, Waris Pargianto said the activity received enthusiastic responses from residents in his neighbourhood.

“Thank goodness, it has been very positive, with residents showing tremendous enthusiasm. Many have been interested in purchasing double quantities, and some worried they wouldn’t get their share,” he said.

He noted that residents took advantage of the opportunity to purchase food items that typically experience price increases before Eid, particularly meat.

“In my opinion, this really helps residents, especially ahead of Eid. Usually when buying meat or other items you have to go to the market, which also consumes time,” said Waris.

Beyond lower prices, the proximity of the location to residential areas also attracted public participation in the programme.

“It’s partly because it’s cheaper, the time required is shorter, and the distance is near. So residents find it easier to participate in purchasing,” he explained.

He hoped such programmes would continue given their direct benefit to communities at the neighbourhood level.

“Everything is ready here. God willing, residents can obtain their needs thanks to Artha Graha’s efforts in organising this activity,” said Waris.
