Artha Graha Peduli Deploys 600 Personnel for "Clean Sweep" at Nusantara Imlek Harmony Festival 2026
The Artha Graha Peduli Foundation (AGP) demonstrated its commitment to supporting diversity and environmental cleanliness by actively participating in the grand celebration of the Nusantara Imlek Harmony Festival 2026, held at Lapangan Banteng, Central Jakarta, on Saturday, 28 February 2026.
For the event, which coincided with the sacred month of Ramadan, AGP deployed 600 personnel from its “Sapu Bersih” (Clean Sweep) team to ensure the festival grounds remained clean and free from litter.
Hanna Lilies, Senior at Artha Graha Peduli, stated that AGP’s involvement represented consistent community service undertaken at every major event. The Clean Sweep team operated not only in the festival’s core area but also extended to the outer ring where micro and small enterprise (UMKM) vendors conducted business.
“We are very focused on rubbish management. Today we deployed approximately 600 people. It is the obligation of all AGP members and employees that if they see rubbish in front of them, they must pick it up even if they did not throw it,” Hanna said at the event venue.
Beyond cleanliness, AGP also assumed responsibility for visitor security and safety. The foundation emphasised strict procedures, particularly at road crossing points around Lapangan Banteng to prevent criminal activities such as robbery.
“We issue firm notices that no one should be holding or using a phone whilst crossing the road. This is an anticipatory measure against robbery. This rule must be implemented by all AGP security members and employees, whilst for the general public we issue persuasive notices,” she stated.
Hanna noted that to address potential medical emergencies, AGP deployed a medical team consisting of two ambulance units stationed at strategic locations, namely at the Borobudur Hotel area and in front of the Cathedral Church. The medical team operated on both standby and mobile basis among the crowds to provide first aid assistance when needed.
AGP’s involvement also touched upon the economic and digital payment sectors. To support participating UMKM, AGP distributed shopping vouchers worth Rp100,000 to the public, including online motorcycle taxi driver communities and beneficiary residents. The QRIS digital payment system was also promoted to ensure transaction security.
Hanna explained that this year’s festival was particularly special because it blended Chinese New Year and Ramadan atmospheres. She hoped the event would reflect the beauty of tolerance in Indonesia, where visitors could enjoy Chinese culture whilst also seeking iftar provisions for breaking the fast.
“Chinese New Year culture is present, but we still respect the Ramadan atmosphere. There are special Ramadan dishes such as traditional treats and fried snacks, all of which are guaranteed to be halal. This is an effort to preserve diversity,” she added.
