Arsari Group has denied information suggesting that President Prabowo Subianto’s younger brother, Hashim S. Djojohadikusumo, holds shares in PT Folago Global Nusantara Tbk (FolaPlay). ‘Mr Hashim S. Djojohadikusumo and Arsari Group do not have any share ownership in PT Folago Global Nusantara Tbk (FolaPlay),’ said Arsari Group Vice President of Corporate Communications Ariseno Ridhwan in a statement in Jakarta on Monday. Ariseno said the statement was issued in response to various pieces of information circulating in the public domain, whether through mass media, digital platforms, or social media, linking Hashim to FolaPlay. He also denied accusations alleging the use of state budget funds for Hashim’s personal interests. ‘We refute this information because it is untrue, baseless, and not supported by verifiable facts,’ he said. ‘Thus, the accusation that state budget funds used in the organisation and broadcast of the 2026 World Cup were intended to enrich or benefit Mr Hashim S. Djojohadikusumo is misleading information and not supported by verifiable facts,’ he stated. Arsari Group affirmed that it continues to respect press freedom and the right of every citizen to express opinions as part of democratic life. However, Ariseno stressed that such freedoms must be exercised responsibly by prioritising accuracy, verification, and good faith in conveying information to the public. He noted that he had observed various pieces of information recently directed at Hashim that were deemed inaccurate, speculative, and defamatory. Ariseno called on the public to be wiser, more critical, and more responsible in receiving and disseminating information circulating in the public sphere. According to him, fact verification and the use of credible sources are important steps to maintain the quality of public discourse while preventing the spread of hoaxes, disinformation, and misleading information. ‘Ultimately, we all share the responsibility to help educate the nation. A healthy public sphere can only be realised if all parties prioritise facts, common sense, and good faith in conveying and disseminating information,’ Ariseno said.
