Arrow actor Stewart McLean found dead, police suspect homicide

The body of Canadian actor Stewart McLean has been identified after police announced his disappearance was likely the result of a criminal act. The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) released a statement on Friday (22 May) that McLean’s remains were found in Lions Bay, British Columbia. The 45-year-old actor was last seen at his home in the same area on Friday 15 May 2026.

Squamish RCMP had only received reports of the missing man on Monday 18 May 2026. Police believe the missing actor from the popular television series Arrow is the victim of an isolated incident. To date, investigators are continuing to gather evidence and trace the actor’s movements to uncover a motive.

‘As the investigation progresses, homicide investigators are working to collect and analyse evidence, review CCTV footage, and interview people to construct a timeline of Mr McLean’s activities before 15 May 2026,’ said IHIT Corporal Esther Tupper in a press statement. ‘We are pursuing every lead as we work to bring answers for McLean’s family, friends and loved ones,’ the statement continued.

The sad news was confirmed by his management agency, Lucas Talent Inc., in a post on Facebook written by his talent agent Jodi Caplan. ‘With deep sadness we say goodbye to our beloved client, Stew McLean. I have been fortunate to work with Stew for more than a decade,’ the statement read. ‘He was always a joy to work with, dedicated, professional, energetic, and very funny. Many casting directors have reached out to express their condolences to Stew’s family and to our agency, with messages echoing how good a man he was and how much he will be missed. Rest in peace, Stew. xo.’

Throughout his acting career, Stewart McLean was known for several roles in popular television series, including Virgin River, Murder in a Small Town, Happy Face, and Arrow.
