Arrogant act

A government official from the Ministry of Forestry has fenced
in a piece of his land in such a way that it has narrowed a road
leading to Srengseng Raya in West Jakarta.

On behalf of the Srengseng sub-district community of RT001/03
in the district of Kembangan we express our displeasure over the
action we consider arrogant. The road is the access traditionally
used by locals.

The official concerned, acting without consulting his
neighbors, has reduced the three-meter wide road to a mere 10-
centimeters. Even a coffin cannot pass through.

We hope that the official will listen to the residents. A
government official should protect the people and refrain from
arbitrary actions. He virtually bought a road.

Are you happy to see us suffering?

A government official is supposed to be a respected person but
your action does not reflect this image. We hope this letter will
not offend you but if it does we beg forgiveness. After failing
to meet you in person may this letter serves as a medium to
express our feelings. We hope that you will understand our
situation.
