Arriving in NTT, Prabowo immediately leads meeting on disaster impact handling

President Prabowo Subianto immediately led a coordination meeting on earthquake disaster response upon arriving in Nagekeo Regency, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), on Wednesday afternoon.

From Bali, President Prabowo departed using the presidential Super Puma helicopter and landed in Nagekeo, NTT. He then boarded the presidential Maung Garuda vehicle to the refugee post at the 834/Wakanga Mere Territorial Development Battalion (Yon TP) headquarters in Tonggurambang Village, Mbay, Nagekeo Regency.

Inside a tent converted into a meeting room, several state officials had already arrived and taken their seats. President Prabowo shook hands with the officials one by one as he walked to his chair.

Officials attending the disaster response coordination meeting in Nagekeo today included Deputy Commander of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) General Tandyo Budi Revita, Minister of Public Works Dody Hanggodo, Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian, Head of the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) Lieutenant General Suharyanto, as well as those who accompanied from Bali: Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia, and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.

Also present were National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, Head of the National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas) Air Marshal Mohammad Syafii, and Head of the Defence Logistics Agency of the Ministry of Defence Air Marshal Yusuf Jauhari.

Cabinet Secretary Teddy opened the meeting session by announcing the names of the officials in attendance, followed by the NTT regional leadership communication forum (forkopimda), consisting of NTT Governor Emanuel Melkiades Laka Lena, NTT Police Chief Inspector General Rudi Darmoko, and Nagekeo Regent Simplisius Donatus.

The meeting session began with a presentation of the disaster situation report and disaster impact response by the Head of BNPB.

In his report, Suharyanto outlined the areas affected by the disaster, the casualties, and the latest information on the distribution of aid to refugees.

“The government will ensure the recovery process continues in stages, not only through the rehabilitation of affected facilities and services, but also reconstruction to rebuild infrastructure and community life in a better and more sustainable manner,” said Prasetyo Hadi.
