Arriving at the Palace, Hanif Faisol Ready to Work Full Force in New Position

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Environment Minister Hanif Faisol Nurofiq stated his readiness to carry out with full effort any new position determined by President Prabowo Subianto amid circulating rumours of the planned inauguration of Cabinet Merah Putih members at the State Palace in Jakarta on Monday.

“Whatever the President’s orders, I believe the President has considered them very carefully. Of course, we will carry them out with full effort,” Hanif said in response to reporters’ questions upon arriving at the Presidential Palace Complex in Jakarta on Monday.

Regarding the new position he will occupy, Hanif conveyed that he still does not know what role he will hold.

However, he mentioned that there are several issues regarding his successor as Minister of Environment, including the target to end Final Processing Sites (TPA) for open dumping—a practice of piling up waste openly without further processing—across Indonesia by 2026.

In addition, there is a target to achieve a 63.41 percent waste management rate this year and reach 100 percent by 2029.

Not only Hanif, but several other figures were also seen arriving at the State Palace ahead of today’s inauguration event.

Those figures include labour figure Jumhur Hidayat, M Qodari who currently serves as Head of the Presidential Staff Office, former Army Chief of Staff General TNI (Ret.) Dudung Abdurachman, and former Minister for the Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers Abdul Kadir Karding.
