Arrives at the DPR, Prabowo to Deliver a 45-Minute Speech in Plenary Session

President of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto arrived at the Parliament Complex to attend a DPR plenary meeting in Jakarta on Wednesday (20 May).

Prabowo is scheduled to deliver a speech on the macroeconomic framework and key fiscal policy measures.

Prabowo’s arrival, accompanied by Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka, was welcomed by DPR leadership, including Speaker Puan Maharani and Deputy Speakers Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, Sarie Yuliati, and Saan Mustopa.

The plenary session is due to begin at 09:00 Western Indonesian Time. Prabowo is expected to speak for 45 minutes.

Separately, Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa said there would be important messages delivered by Prabowo in his speech to the DPR plenary.

“There are important messages in the KEM PPKF, where the KEM PPKF contains the President’s flagship programs, so he must speak on them, not me,” he said at a press conference on the State Budget (APBN Kita) at the Finance Ministry in Central Jakarta on Tuesday (19 May).

Purbaya said Prabowo’s presence at the DPR to outline the KEM PPKF marks the first time in history.
