Around-the-clock Readiness: Pertamina Deploys All Infrastructure to Secure Mudik 2026 Energy Supplies
PT Pertamina (Persero) has assured the readiness of energy supply during the Ramadan and Idul Fitri Task Force (Satgas Rafi) 2026. During the Satgas period, Pertamina Group will be on standby 24 hours a day to meet the energy needs of Indonesians, particularly during the mudik and Lebaran return traffic. Muhammad Baron, Vice President for Corporate Communications at Pertamina, said a range of steps have been taken to improve service and ensure adequate energy supply. ‘Pertamina has increased its energy stock build-up to anticipate higher consumption during Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr, particularly during outbound and inbound flows,’ he said in a written statement received by Kompas.com on Wednesday, 4 March 2026. This was announced at the Satgas Ramadan dan Idul Fitri Pertamina Group press conference at Grha Pertamina, Jakarta, on Tuesday 3 March 2026. Meanwhile, the peak of the return flow is expected on 24–25 March 2026 and 28–29 March 2026. Baron projected that demand for petrol would rise as most people travel for mudik or leisure. Meanwhile, diesel consumption is expected to decline in line with restrictions on operations for industrial and commercial vehicles during the Lebaran holiday period. In addition, consumption of LPG, aviation turbine fuel (avtur), and kerosene is also forecast to rise. With these projections, Pertamina has ensured that all business lines, from upstream to downstream, are on full alert. ‘All Pertamina business units are also ready to offer promotions and the best services,’ he said. Through PT Pertamina Hulu Energi, the company maintains production pace with a lifting rate for January–March 2026 of 386,000 barrels of oil per day (bopd). In the maritime sector, PT Pertamina International Shipping (PIS), through its subsidiary, ensures smooth energy distribution during the Satgas Rafi period. A total of 415 tugboats are on standby to guard the navigation of tanker ships.
