Simanjuntak delivered the report to the president during a meeting at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta on Thursday.

The meeting was also attended by Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya and Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi along with high ranking army officials, including Deputy Army Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Muhammad Saleh Mustafa.

“In the past three months the Army has completed the construction of 300 pioneering suspension bridges throughout Indonesia,” Teddy informed on Friday.

Accelerating bridge construction and repair has been a primary focus of the administration since early 2026.

The head of state specifically appointed General Simanjuntak to lead the accelerated construction of pioneering bridges as Head of the Bridge Task Force.

In addition to infrastructure the Army is assisting disaster recovery efforts by renovating hundreds of schools and providing access to clean water.

“We have completed the renovation of 300 schools in three provinces affected by the Sumatra disaster including the construction of 300 clean water wells,” Teddy continued.

He emphasized that the Army works collaboratively with the Ministry of Public Works to accelerate the development of public facilities in underserved and remote areas.

Synergy across sectors is instrumental in delivering these essential programs to rural and remote communities.

“This collaboration is driven by the community’s concern for development,” the official noted regarding the partnership between the Army and the Ministry of Public Works.

On November 28, 2025, President Prabowo announced the formation of a Bridge Emergency Task Force to ensure students have safe access to schools.

This measure follows public reports regarding limited road infrastructure and the president previously noted that the national demand for bridges stands at 300,000 units.
