Army Chief Meets Prabowo at Palace, Reports on Bridges and School Renovations
Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - President Prabowo Subianto received the Army Chief of Staff (KSAD), General TNI Maruli Simanjuntak, along with senior Indonesian Army (TNI AD) officials at Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, on Thursday (16/4/2026).
In the meeting, the KSAD reported on the progress of strategic tasks undertaken by the Indonesian Army,” stated the official Instagram account of the Presidential Secretariat, as quoted by CNBC Indonesia on Friday (17/4/2026).
The following are Maruli’s reports to Prabowo:
In the past three months, the Indonesian Army has completed the construction of 300 pioneer suspension bridges distributed throughout Indonesia.
In the same three-month period, the renovation of 300 schools in three disaster-affected provinces in Sumatra has been completed, including the construction of 300 clean water bore points at those schools.
According to the Presidential Secretariat’s explanation, the Indonesian Army is collaborating with the Ministry of Public Works to expedite the completion of all forms of public facilities in villages up to remote areas. This cooperation is certainly driven by the concerns of communities in the construction sites in those regions.
