Armuzna Phase Determines 80 Percent of Hajj Success, Says Minister

Makkah — The Minister of Hajj and Umrah (Menhaj) RI, Mochamad Irfan Yusuf, urged Indonesian Hajj officers to maintain first-class service to Indonesian pilgrims during the Armuzna phase, comprising Arafah, Muzdalifah and Mina. Armuzna is the peak phase of Hajj and serves as one of the key indicators of the operation’s success. ‘The peak of Hajj is Armuzna. If Armuzna proceeds as expected, that means 80 percent of success,’ Gus Irfan said after arriving at King Abdul Aziz Airport in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on Thursday (21 May 2026). As of day 29 of the 2026 Hajj operation, Indonesian Hajj officers have demonstrated strong performance, with personnel divided into several work areas, working hard to serve pilgrims to the maximum. ‘I commend the Hajj officers; their tone is very positive,’ he said. The Armuzna readiness is being refined continuously up to the day of the Hajj climax. Coordination meetings are held every night to ensure all Indonesian pilgrims can exercise their rights to worship in Arafah, Muzdalifah, and Mina. Head of Operations (Kasatops) Armuzna, Lieutenant Colonel Inf. Surnadi, revealed the plan’s refinement for the Armuzna phase. He said the team has conducted several field reviews of the Armuzna locations—Arafah, Muzdalifah, and Mina.
