Armenian FM visits Jakarta
JAKARTA: Armenian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vardan Oskanyan visited Indonesia to hold a bilateral meeting with his Indonesian counterpart Hassan Wirayuda in Jakarta, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced.
This is the first visit of a high-level Armenian delegation to Indonesia.
The ministry said in its website that during the meeting, the two ministers signed an agreement for the avoidance of double taxation and the prevention of fiscal evasion with respect to taxes on income and capital.
Meanwhile, the Armenian News Network/Groong reported that the two ministers exchanged details about the progress in solving the conflicts in Aceh and Nagorno Karabakh in their respective countries.
During the talks, Oskanyan explained that the Nagorno Karabakh conflict has nothing to do with religion, but it is only an expression of the right to self-determination of the Karabakh people
Indonesia and Armenia also signed a Memorandum of Understanding on the establishment of bilateral consultative forum. --JP
