Armed Robbery in Menteng: Victim Held Captive and Stabbed, Now in Critical Condition

Robbers targeted a house in the elite Menteng area of Central Jakarta. One victim, identified by the initials MAH, is reported to be in critical condition after being assaulted by the perpetrators.

“The initial information is that it was a robbery,” said AKBP Roby Heri Saputra, Head of Criminal Investigation at the Central Jakarta Metro Police, when contacted on Thursday (18/6/2026).

The incident occurred on Tuesday (16/6). The victim was visiting the home of a witness, identified as T, who is also a colleague of the victim.

“He is a colleague from the same company. It was the witness’s house, not the victim’s house. Yes, the victim was visiting,” he stated.

According to the witness’s account, two suspected perpetrators suddenly entered the house. The perpetrators then attacked the victim and made off with gold belonging to the witness.

“Based on the statement from the witness who was with the victim, two robbers arrived and held them captive. However, when we found the victim, he had almost lost consciousness and could not provide a statement,” he said.

“The information indicates that the stolen items belonged to the witness, not the victim. Several pieces of gold were taken,” he added.

The victim sustained seven stab wounds to the neck and back, leaving him in critical condition and requiring intensive care at the hospital. Police are currently conducting a series of investigations, including pursuing the suspected perpetrators.

“Yesterday he was critical, but reportedly his condition has started to improve today. He suffered stab wounds and blunt force trauma, seven stab wounds,” he concluded.
