Armed Robbery at BRIlink Counter in Palu, Rp13 Million Stolen
A violent robbery took place at a BRIlink counter on Jalan Veteran, Tanamodindi Ward, Mantikulore Subdistrict, Palu City, on Monday (30/3) around 12:48 WITA. According to police reports, the victim, Salma Nisa (24), suffered a loss of Rp13 million after being threatened with a sharp weapon known as a badik. The incident happened while the victim was inside the counter. The perpetrator arrived and knocked on the side door. When the door was opened, the perpetrator immediately entered, pushed the victim, and pointed the badik at her while threatening to kill her if she screamed. The perpetrator then forced the victim to hide under the table before taking the cash that was on the counter table. After that, the perpetrator ordered the victim to face the wall and not move, before fleeing the scene. The victim reported the incident to the police at 16:15 WITA on the same day. The Palu Police Chief, Kombes Hari Rosena, stated that they had received the report and immediately began an investigation. “Our team has gone to the location to process the crime scene (TKP) and gather witness statements to uncover the perpetrator’s identity,” he said in Palu on Tuesday (31/3). Hari also urged the public to increase vigilance, especially for financial service business operators like BRIlink. “We urge residents to be more careful and report any suspicious activities in the surrounding area immediately,” he emphasised.
