Armed Robber Who Stole 500 Grams of Gold in Menteng Arrested
Police have provided an update on the robbery case in which gold was stolen from a house on Jalan Pati, Menteng, Central Jakarta. One perpetrator has been arrested.
“One person has been detained,” said Central Jakarta Metro Police Criminal Investigation Unit Head AKBP Roby Heri Saputra on Friday (19/6/2026).
He has not yet explained in detail the relationship between the perpetrator and the victim. According to him, this will be conveyed when a press conference is held.
“It will be disclosed during the release,” he stated.
Previously, police were investigating a robbery at a house on Jalan Pati, Menteng, Central Jakarta. The robber is believed to have made off with gold belonging to the homeowner, identified by the initial T.
“The preliminary material loss is 500 grams of gold,” said Menteng Metro Police Chief AKBP Braiel Arnold Rondonuwu when contacted on Thursday (18/6).
The injured victim in this case has the initials MAH, a colleague of T who was visiting the location. The victim is still receiving treatment at a hospital after being assaulted by the perpetrator.
“The injured victim’s condition is still under care at the hospital. The case is currently under investigation and inquiry, assisted by the Central Jakarta Police Criminal Investigation Unit and the Metro Jaya Police’s Jatanras Sub-directorate,” he said.
The incident occurred on Tuesday (16/6) at 12.00 WIB. Victim MAH was visiting the home of witness T, who is also the victim’s colleague.
“A colleague from the same company, that is his house, the witness’s house, not the victim’s house. Yes, the victim was visiting,” said Central Jakarta Metro Police Criminal Investigation Unit Head AKBP Roby Heri Saputra.
Based on witness testimony, two suspected perpetrators suddenly entered the house. The perpetrators then attacked the victim and fled with gold belonging to witness T.
“According to the witness who was with the victim, two robbers came and restrained them. But when we found him, the victim had almost lost consciousness and could not provide a statement,” he said.
