Armed individuals block nightclub patrons in Buleleng as police intervene
Panic erupted outside Volcano Club in Anturan Village, Buleleng, Bali, in the early hours of Sunday (24/5/2026), as several patrons attempting to leave were allegedly stopped by a group of armed individuals. Residents reported the tense situation via Buleleng Police’s 110 hotline around 3:00 AM WITA, prompting immediate deployment of personnel to the crime scene. ‘Personnel proceeded directly to the scene to prevent undesirable incidents and ensure public safety,’ stated Buleleng Police Public Relations Chief Iptu Yohana Rosalin Diaz on Sunday afternoon. Initial handling was led by Singaraja Police Station Deputy Chief Iptu Komang Widiasa, alongside the URC Sigap Team and duty personnel from approximately 3:05 AM WITA. Upon arrival, police secured the area, interviewed witnesses, and conducted searches around the nightclub. Tension briefly flared outside the venue, with officers maintaining tight security to prevent further disturbances and ensure patrons left safely. Shortly after, Buleleng Police Chief AKBP Ruzi Gusman arrived to oversee operations on the ground, with authorities conducting thorough checks of the still-operating nightclub. Yohana confirmed officers discovered underage patrons inside, who were taken to Buleleng Police Headquarters for documentation and further guidance. In addition to handling the Volcano Club incident, police dispersed illegal street racing and quelled disturbances at other nightlife spots in Singaraja. ‘Buleleng Police urge the public to report any public order disturbances via the 110 hotline for prompt action,’ Yohana added.
