`Arisan' savings fraud
`Arisan' savings fraud
From Republika
I have received chain letters from the arisan savings
enterprise a few times. I have also received material from people
calling themselves Danasonic, arisan and finally arisan ukhuwah
Islamiah.
Essentially they are all the same. They ask you to send money
to the address listed first while putting our own name in fourth
place. Then they tell you to copy the letter and send them to
others.
True, there is a possibility of getting some money back. But
still, there is an element of fraud. The scheme must have been
devised by at least four cheats. They are the ones who stand the
biggest chance of gaining.
To those who have already been taken in, or have reaped some
benefit from this scheme, I suggest that they immediately quit.
