Ariawan, the Chairman of the Parliamentary Journalists Coordinator (KWP) for 2024-2026, has delivered a message to parliamentary journalists as he prepares to step down from his position. He urged the KWP to maintain its solidarity.

Ariawan’s statement was made during the election session for the KWP Chairman for the 2026-2028 period in Megamendung, Bogor. He initially addressed the new management directly.

“The most important thing is that the 2026-2028 KWP management must be able to maintain the unity of all KWP members,” said Ariawan on Friday (2/10/2026).

According to Ariawan, internal solidarity is a vital asset for the KWP in performing its journalistic role within the parliamentary environment.

“The change in management must not cause KWP members to become divided, because the strength of the KWP lies in the togetherness of all its members,” he said.

In addition to maintaining internal unity, Ariawan reminded the new KWP management to continue building communication and good relations with the House of Representatives (DPR). Such relationships, according to him, need to be maintained comprehensively, ranging from the DPR Secretariat General to the members of the DPR who serve as partners to parliamentary journalists.

“The KWP must continue to maintain good relations with the DPR, from the Secretariat General to the members of the DPR,” said Ariawan.

He assessed that well-established relationships would help create healthy communication between parliamentary journalists and the legislative institution.

Ariawan emphasised that the relationship between the KWP and the DPR is not merely a connection between journalists and sources, but a professional relationship that must be maintained continuously.

“We must maintain good and continuous relationships, so that the KWP can continue to perform its journalistic duties effectively,” he added.

He expressed hope that the 2026-2028 KWP management could continue the positive developments established by the previous management without neglecting the need for improvements.

According to Ariawan, organisational continuity is essential so that the KWP remains a shared platform for journalists performing coverage duties within the parliamentary environment.

“I hope the new management can make the KWP even more solid, maintain togetherness, and continue to build good communication with the DPR,” said Ariawan.

This message also serves as a reminder that leadership changes should be a momentum to strengthen the organisation, rather than widening differences among members.

With the election of the KWP management for the 2026-2028 period, Ariawan hopes that all members can unite their steps to uphold the dignity of the organisation and journalistic professionalism.

“The most important thing is how the KWP can remain a shared home for all parliamentary journalists and be able to maintain good relations with the DPR sustainably,” he asserted.
