Argo Bromo Train Driver Named Suspect in KRL Collision, Here is the Reason
The Jakarta Metropolitan Police have named the driver of the Argo Bromo Anggrek train, identified by the initials AN, as a suspect in the collision between the Argo Bromo Anggrek and the KRL TM6000 at Bekasi Timur Station on 27 April 2026. The Deputy Director of General Criminal Investigation of the Jakarta Metropolitan Police, AKBP I Dewa Anom Danujaya, revealed the reasons for designating the driver as a suspect.
“Based on the evidence collected from the KNKT (National Transportation Safety Committee), which served as input and consideration in our investigation, as well as examinations conducted by experts, we have concluded from our investigation that AN is suspected of violating the aforementioned articles,” Anom stated during a press conference in Jakarta on Tuesday (29/9/2026).
Anom explained that based on data logger results and the investigation conducted, the emergency brake action performed by the Argo Bromo Anggrek driver at 21:51:54 WIB was too close to the position of the KRL TM6000, with a distance of only 263 metres.
“Investigators have concluded that the emergency brake should have been applied at a further distance than what was performed during the first braking action at the time of the accident,” said Anom.
Anom emphasised that the results of this data logger analysis have been supported by expert testimony. He also noted that the KNKT has provided the results of the collision investigation, although they did not name the suspect.
“Moving forward, the suspect will be summoned for further questioning,” he explained.
