JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Manager of Public Relations for KAI Daop 1 Jakarta, Franoto Wibowo, stated that his company is currently conducting the evacuation of the long-distance train (KA) and electric rail train (KRL) series that collided at Bekasi Timur Station, Bekasi, West Java, on Monday (27/4/2026) evening.

In addition to the evacuation process, PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) has also deactivated the overhead power supply (LAA) on the KRL Bekasi–Cibitung Timur line as a safety measure.

“As a safety measure, the overhead power supply (LAA) on the Cibitung–Bekasi Timur line and the Bekasi Timur platform has been temporarily deactivated,” he continued.

He added that the incident location is on the platform at Bekasi Timur Station, specifically at KM 28+920.

According to Franoto, the cause of the collision between the two trains is still being investigated.

“KAI extends its apologies to customers for the inconvenience caused,” added Franoto.
