Area Development Strengthens Sustainability Aspects
The property industry is beginning to shift its development focus from residential construction towards integrated areas that combine environmental aspects, public facilities, and community needs within a single living ecosystem. Director of Paramount Land, Norman Daulay, stated that future property area developments must adapt to changes in societal lifestyles, as there is an increasing demand for complete and sustainable residential environments. “Sustainability is not merely a part of project development, but a long-term dedication to creating a city ecosystem as a complete and valuable living space that benefits both society and the environment,” Daulay said in a statement on Thursday.
One of the areas developed using this approach includes Paramount Gading Serpong and Paramount Petals in Tangerang. Both areas are being developed as townships providing various supporting facilities, ranging from commercial centres, education, and healthcare to regional infrastructure.
He explained that Paramount Gading Serpong has evolved into one of the new urban areas in Tangerang, featuring facilities such as hospitals, hotels, shopping centres, business areas, and educational institutions. Meanwhile, Paramount Petals is being developed as a township covering approximately 400 hectares in the western region of Jakarta.
Property industry observers note that the township concept is a strategic response to urban growth and the increasing public need for housing with closer access to various amenities. Beyond convenience, sustainability is becoming a primary focus in the property industry. The implementation of green building concepts, energy efficiency, and environmental management is becoming part of the new standard in area development.
This focus on sustainability is also reflected in the Hubexo Asia Awards 2026, which uses sustainable development principles as an assessment criterion. In this event, Paramount Land has once again entered the Top 10 Developer Awards for the fifth consecutive time.
This award coincides with Paramount Land’s 20-year journey in developing property projects in Indonesia. The company noted that this momentum serves as a drive to continue developing areas that align with community needs and changes in the property industry. The 100-hectare Ecopolis area is a collaborative development project between Ciputra Group and the Japanese developer, Mitsui Fudosan Asia. Additionally, a 2,000-hectare area located 500 metres from the Maja KRL Station adopts an integrated city concept. This latest project focuses on providing facilities that support the quality of life for residents and long-term investment value.
