ARCHIPELAGO Hotels, the largest private hotel management group in Indonesia and Southeast Asia, will host the culinary festival program “Archipelago Korean Street Food Festival - 60 Seconds to Seoul” in Yogyakarta on May 12, 2026. This program is part of the Archipelago Global Flavours Series, a culinary campaign that features a variety of authentic street food from various countries, with Korea as the culinary destination featured in this edition.
This festival is also the second offline event organized by Archipelago Hotels, presenting the experience of Korean street food through fast service, authentic flavors, and direct interaction through live cooking inspired by the dynamic culinary culture of Seoul.
“As part of the Archipelago Global Flavours Series, we continue to present ‘60 Seconds to Seoul’ through the Korean Street Food Festival at Royal Malioboro, in collaboration with ten Archipelago Hotels properties in Yogyakarta and Solo. This pop-up culinary concept presents authentic flavors and the vibrancy of Seoul’s street food culture to all our guests, while also reflecting our commitment to providing memorable culinary and hospitality experiences,” said CEO of Archipelago Hotels, John Flood, in an official statement on Friday (May 15).
This festival is inspired by the practical and fast-paced nature of street food in Seoul. All dishes are served quickly through a live cooking concept, providing an interactive experience and a major attraction for visitors.
The festival features a variety of popular Korean menu options, ranging from tteokbokki, Korean fried chicken, to Korean BBQ and kimchi-based dishes. In addition, visitors can also enjoy fusion menu variations such as Korean burgers, mozzarella corndogs, dakgangjeong, and kimchi fried rice, prepared directly by chefs from various Archipelago Hotels units.
More than eight live cooking stalls will participate in this festival, each presenting a different special menu, ranging from street snacks such as odeng, dakkochi, and twigim, to main dishes such as galbitang, jjampong, and Korean grilled beef.
To complement the culinary experience, this festival also presents a selection of fresh and unique Korean beverages, including Omija Cooler, a combination of omija syrup, strawberries, lime, and Seoul tonic water, Milky Mango, a blend of mango syrup, mango probiotic milk, and soda, and Fruity Herbs Korean, a mixture of omija syrup, ginger syrup, orange juice, infused herbs, and citrus Sparkling Yuzu Honey, a refreshing drink with a distinctive Korean citrus flavor.
In addition to the main menu, visitors can also enjoy a variety of dessert options, ranging from mango sago pudding, tiramisu, raspberry mousse, to a variety of premium pastries and tarts, as well as local touches such as es teler and es cendol nangka, as well as various kimchi-based dishes and one of the popular menu items, Butter Tteok.
The event is held at Royal Malioboro. Yogyakarta was chosen as the location because it is known for its strong creative ecosystem, active community, and high interest in organizing culture-based and lifestyle events.
This festival also involves a number of other Archipelago Hotels units in the Yogyakarta and Solo areas as part of an effort to reach a wider audience in the DI Yogyakarta and Central Java regions, including:
The activity emphasizes direct interaction with visitors through a more intimate and personal concept. As a major attraction, this event presents Korean street food stalls and live cooking stations that allow visitors to see the preparation process directly. Various supporting activities such as K-Pop dance performances, interactive quizzes, door prizes, and costume competitions complement the event series.
In addition, there is also a noraebang (Korean karaoke), random play dance, and a photo spot that encourages visitor participation and creates a content-based experience. A fun cooking challenge with Archipelago Hotels’ Corporate Pastry Chef, Risman Sukmawan, also adds to the excitement of the event. This approach makes “60 Seconds to Seoul” not only a culinary festival, but also a lifestyle experience that combines food, culture, and community.
As part of the Archipelago Global Flavours Series program, “60 Seconds to Seoul” can be enjoyed not only through the Korean Street Food Festival event, but also at various Archipelago Hotels networks throughout Indonesia until June 2026. With availability through dine-in, room service, and delivery platforms such as GoFood and GrabFood, it can be easily enjoyed by hotel guests and the general public. Through this program, Archipelago Hotels continues to present creative and memorable F&B experiences, while bringing the spirit of Seoul’s street food closer to Indonesia, without having to leave the country.
