Araghchi condemns UK for allowing US to use bases to attack Iran

Moscow (ANTARA) - Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer has gambled with the lives of his citizens by allowing British bases to be used for aggression against Iran. “The majority of the British people do not want to be involved in the Israel-US war of choice against Iran. By ignoring his own people, Starmer is endangering British lives by allowing British bases to be used for aggression against Iran. Iran will exercise its right to self-defence,” Araghchi wrote on X. The statement came after the UK government on Friday approved the use of British bases by the US for attacks on Iranian missile sites. On 28 February, the United States and Israel launched attacks on targets in Iran, including in Tehran, causing damage and civilian casualties, as well as killing Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Iran responded by attacking Israeli territory and US military facilities in the Middle East.
