Arab Nations at UN Urge World to Sanction Israel

The Arab group at the United Nations on Friday urged the international community to take decisive action in response to Israel’s violations in the Palestinian territories. In a statement delivered by Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador to the UN, Abdulaziz Alwasil, during a Security Council press conference, the group rejected all measures aimed at altering the status of Palestinian territories occupied since 1967, including East Jerusalem. The statement also warned that Israel is expanding settlements and fragmenting the rights of the Palestinian people, and cautioned against the continuation of escalation in the Gaza Strip. The Arab nations also rejected any attempts to expel or forcibly transfer Palestinians. The Arab group once again called on countries and international organisations to take a firm stance in response to the ongoing violations in the Israeli-occupied Palestinian territories.
