Arab media outlets have highlighted President Prabowo Subianto’s visits to Jordan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Arab News and Economy Middle East have published coverage of the diplomatic engagement.
Arab News reported on a meeting between King Abdullah II and President Prabowo under the headline “Jordanian king and Indonesian president to cooperate in stability efforts in Gaza”. The publication detailed discussions between the two leaders on bilateral cooperation in efforts to restore stability in the Palestinian coastal region of Gaza.
“The meeting on Wednesday at Basman Palace in Amman focused on regional issues, particularly support for achieving peace based on a two-state solution, and commitment to protecting Palestinian citizens in Gaza,” the outlet stated.
King Abdullah praised Indonesia’s political position and highlighted Indonesian investment in regional projects as important for enhancing cooperation. President Prabowo emphasised Indonesia’s commitment to establishing an independent Palestinian state, achieving lasting peace in the region, and ending the conflict in Gaza. The broader scope of the discussion covered the longstanding relationship between Jordan and Indonesia, which has been maintained for more than 75 years, and commitments to expand cooperation in political, economic, defence, business, energy, science, technology, and health sectors.
King Abdullah also stressed the importance of dialogue to reduce tensions related to Iran and to support the Syrian Arab Republic and Lebanon in maintaining their security, sovereignty, and stability.
Economy Middle East covered Prabowo’s visit to the UAE under the headline “UAE, Indonesia Presidents discuss enhancing ties in development-related sectors”. The publication also highlighted the 50-year relationship between Indonesia and the UAE. The two leaders reportedly exchanged Ramadan greetings and expressed their hope that the holy month would bring blessings and prosperity to both nations and contribute to global peace and stability.
“Sheikh Mohamed noted the sustained progress of the long-standing UAE-Indonesia relationship, which is based on mutual trust, respect, and shared interests,” the outlet stated.
“He reaffirmed the UAE’s commitment to advancing development and economic partnership with Indonesia for the benefit of both nations and their peoples,” the publication added.
