Arab leaders congratulate Indonesia on 81st Independence Day
Leaders of friendly nations in the Arabian Peninsula conveyed congratulations to the people and Government of Indonesia on the 81st Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia on Monday.
As quoted from the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), King Salman of Saudi Arabia sent congratulations to Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto on the 81st anniversary of Indonesia’s independence. In his message, King Salman expressed hope that President Prabowo would remain in good health and that the Indonesian nation would continue to achieve progress in statehood.
“The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques hopes that the President of the Republic of Indonesia will always be healthy and happy, and that the people and Government of Indonesia will continue to enjoy progress and prosperity,” King Salman said in his letter to Prabowo.
In addition, leaders of the United Arab Emirates also conveyed congratulations on the 81st anniversary of Indonesia’s independence to the people and Government of Indonesia, as reported by the WAM news agency. The congratulations were delivered by UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to President Prabowo. Similar statements were also conveyed by UAE Vice President and Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, as well as Vice President and Deputy Prime Minister Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
QNA reported that Qatar’s Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani conveyed similar congratulations to President Prabowo.
In addition to Arab leaders, congratulations also flowed from leaders and representatives of friendly nations in other regions. One of them was Russian President Vladimir Putin, who in his message highlighted the strategic value of strengthening bilateral relations between Russia and Indonesia.
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio also conveyed congratulations on the 81st anniversary of Indonesia’s independence, expressing hope that Indonesia and the United States could continue their journey together towards shared prosperity.
The 81st Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia was celebrated under the theme “A Sovereign, Just, and Prosperous Indonesia”.
