Ara Requests BRI Support for Subsidised Housing Financing

JAKARTA - Minister of Housing and Settlement Maruarar Sirait has requested PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BRI) to support subsidised housing financing through the Housing Finance Liquidity Facility (FLPP) scheme. This is to assist in providing housing in urban areas with limited land availability. ‘To meet the target of 60,000 FLPP units, one option is subsidised apartment blocks. We also encourage BRI to conduct a market study first to ensure subsidised housing aligns with community needs,’ Ara said on Tuesday, 26 May 2026. The meeting discussed strengthening collaboration to support government housing financing programmes, including Housing KUR, FLPP for both landed and apartment subsidised housing, and the roof replacement programme in West Java. As of now, BRI’s Housing KUR implementation has reached around 76 per cent, with 66,328 borrowers and a disbursement value of Rp9.2 trillion. Of these, 752 borrowers are from the supply side and 65,576 from the demand side, making BRI the top national bank for KPP implementation. ‘BRI has also been actively promoting KPP. So far, four promotional sessions have been held, with a total of ten planned for 2026. This demonstrates BRI’s strong commitment to supporting housing programmes and SME development through KPP,’ Ara said. Alongside Housing KUR, the meeting also addressed FLPP disbursement progress through BRI. In 2025, BRI’s FLPP target was 33,000 subsidised units, with 32,206 delivered. For 2026, the target has increased to 60,000 units, with 12,500 already disbursed. Director General of Urban Housing Sri Haryati explained that the government has prepared several schemes for subsidised apartment construction, including Cooperation Utilisation, Build-Use-Transfer, Infrastructure Leasing, and Build-Transfer-Use. Ara stated that the BSPS programme in West Java for 2026 will cover 40,000 houses, requiring approximately 12 million roof tiles. Regarding technical and regulatory aspects of the roof replacement programme, all parties agreed further study is needed.
