Aptrindo Central Java–DIY Ready to Support Zero ODOL Implementation in 2027
Semarang (ANTARA) – The Indonesian Truck Entrepreneurs Association (Aptrindo) in Central Java and the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY) is ready to support the implementation of the “Zero Over Dimension Over Loading” (ODOL) policy in early January 2027.
Aptrindo Central Java and DIY chairman Bambang Widjanarko said at the association’s regional meeting in Semarang on Thursday that it was continuing to provide guidance to freight transport operators ahead of the ban on vehicles exceeding permitted loads and dimensions.
“We continue to guide our members and work with the transport agency and the police,” he said.
He said an important step was activating the Freight Transport Information System developed by Aptrindo’s central board. The system includes vehicle registration and monitoring of members’ vehicles.
“We hope there will be no unlicensed vehicles in Aptrindo. All of them must be licensed,” he said.
The system would also make it easier to monitor truck loads, he said. If a vehicle was carrying an excessive load, the association could be informed and would issue a warning.
The Freight Transport Information System would also support monitoring of subsidised fuel distribution, he added.
At the regional meeting, Widjanarko was re-elected as chairman of Aptrindo Central Java and DIY for the 2026–2031 term.
The Coordinating Ministry for Infrastructure and Regional Development has set a target of having no ODOL trucks or vehicles on toll roads by 1 January 2027.
“Our target is that, by 1 January 2027 at the latest, there will be no ODOL vehicles on toll roads,” said Nazib Faizal, deputy for basic infrastructure coordination at the ministry, at the Indonesia International Sustainable Forum in Jakarta.
According to data he had received, one in four trucks was in violation of ODOL regulations.
The Ministry of Transportation has said that the integration of freight and logistics data, as part of preparations for the Zero ODOL policy in January 2027, is 98 per cent complete.
The ministry’s Director General of Land Transportation, Aan Suhanan, said the government was taking a number of steps under the Zero ODOL action plan, including data integration, digitalising monitoring and law enforcement, and preparing regulations.
He said the ministry remained committed to implementing Zero ODOL from January 2027.
