Approved! Prabowo Signs Presidential Decree on Formation of Task Force for Layoff Mitigation

The government has formed the Task Force for Mitigating Layoffs and Worker Welfare. This was announced by President Prabowo Subianto while attending the peak of International Labour Day commemorations at Monas, Central Jakarta, on Friday (1/5/2026). “I have issued Presidential Decree No. 10 of 2026 on the Formation of the Task Force for Mitigating Layoffs and Worker Welfare,” he stated. He urged workers not to worry, as the government will defend and protect those threatened by layoffs. “If there are entrepreneurs who give up, don’t worry, our country is strong, our country will take over, our country will defend the Indonesian people. Don’t worry,” Prabowo said.
