The Chair of the National Mandate Party (PAN) Faction in the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) and Deputy Chair of Commission XII of the DPR RI, Putri Zulkifli Hasan, has expressed appreciation for the government’s decision to ensure no increase in fuel oil (BBM) prices as of 1 April 2026. “This policy is important for maintaining public purchasing power and economic stability,” said Putri. Putri emphasised that this momentum must be utilised to strengthen long-term energy agendas, such as those in PAN’s II National Conference 2026, particularly through campaigns for energy saving and wise usage. “PAN is encouraging a movement for energy saving and wise use among all cadres as a concrete step to safeguard national energy resilience,” she stated. She added that energy price stability needs to be accompanied by accelerating the energy transition towards more sustainable sources, while supporting the government of President Prabowo Subianto’s vision of energy self-sufficiency. “The PAN Faction is ready to oversee energy policies that not only maintain current stability but also strengthen national energy independence in the future,” Putri remarked. At the same time, the PAN Faction is also urging PT Pertamina (Persero) to ensure that BBM distribution remains smooth and on target. Putri then reminded of the importance of field oversight of BBM distribution, as well as firm action against deviant practices, including misappropriation and hoarding. “We demand that distribution oversight be tightened and there should be no room for misappropriation or BBM hoarding practices. These must be firmly addressed so as not to harm the public,” she said. In addition, Putri also encouraged the active role of the Upstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Body or BPH Migas to ensure that energy distribution governance runs transparently, accountably, and on target.
