Jakarta - A newly sworn-in Constitutional Court justice, Liliek Prisbawono Adi, has requested prayers and blessings to undertake his new duties before President Prabowo Subianto. He expressed thanks for being trusted to serve as a replacement for Anwar Usman, who retired after 15 years of service. “I express my gratitude. I request your prayers to carry out my duties and responsibilities in safeguarding the Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia,” Liliek said at the State Palace after taking the oath, in Central Jakarta, on Friday (10/4/2026). He also sought prayers to strive for truth, as well as to improve his integrity and capacity as a Constitutional Court justice. “There are no specific tasks assigned to me. I am simply in the position of replacing Prof Anwar Usman, who has served as a Constitutional Court justice for 15 years,” he stated. Furthermore, he outlined his vision of safeguarding the Constitution and upholding statesmanship. “Statesmanship is the guiding principle for us as Constitutional Court justices,” Liliek emphasised. Previously reported, Liliek Prisbawono Adi has officially assumed the role of Constitutional Court justice replacing the retired Anwar Usman. His appointment as a Constitutional Court justice is based on Presidential Decree of the Republic of Indonesia Number 36/P of 2026 regarding the Dismissal and Appointment of Constitutional Court Justices proposed by the Supreme Court. According to the Medan High Court website, Liliek Prisbawono Adi was born in Bojonegoro on 27 October 1966. Before serving as a Constitutional Court justice, Liliek was a high court judge at the Medan High Court and previously served as chief judge of the Central Jakarta District Court.
