APPMBGI Develops MBG Supervision System
REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – The implementation of the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) programme, which continues to expand, demands a stronger supervision system. Strengthening oversight is deemed necessary to maintain service quality while ensuring the programme runs sustainably.
General Chairman of the Indonesian Association of Entrepreneurs and Managers of Nutritious Meals Kitchens (APPMBGI), Abdul Rivai Ras, stated that APPMBGI is developing the MBG Command and Control Center as a centralised monitoring system. This system is used to control kitchen operations, monitor logistics distribution, and identify potential supply disruptions in various regions.
“This system enables mapping of areas experiencing supply shortages and ensures effective logistics distribution, particularly in underdeveloped regions with limited market access and infrastructure,” said Rivai during the inauguration of APPMBGI’s Provincial and District Branches across Indonesia in Jakarta on Sunday (26/04/2026).
According to Rivai, strengthening supervision also encompasses oversight of service quality, from nutritional standards and hygiene to accuracy in beneficiary selection. Data analysis is used to ensure the programme runs according to targets and delivers real impact.
“Through the Command and Control Center, APPMBGI conducts data analysis to ensure the programme is on target, transparent, and provides tangible benefits to the community,” said Rivai.
In addition, APPMBGI is promoting the strengthening of supporting infrastructure such as storage warehouses and cold storage, especially in areas with limited facilities. Collaborations with various parties, including Perum Bulog, are being pursued to maintain food supply and distribution stability.
Rivai also emphasised the importance of strengthening the legal framework to ensure the MBG programme’s sustainability across periods. Rivai added that utilising local markets must be balanced with a robust logistics system to avoid price disruptions.
Regarding the existence of APPMBGI, Rivai explained that the association positions itself as a strategic partner providing input while carrying out supervisory functions for the programme’s implementation. “APPMBGI was formed as a strategic partner that assists the government while ensuring the MBG programme runs optimally, sustainably, and on target,” said Rivai.
