Applications subsector dominates creative economy investment in Karawang, hitting Rp4.46 trillion in 2025
Karawang Regency in West Java has demonstrated positive development in its creative economy subsector throughout 2025. Investment value in the sector reached approximately Rp4.46 trillion, establishing Karawang as one of the region’s premier investment destinations.
Abas Sudrajat, Head of the Tourism, Youth, and Sports Office (Disparpora) in Karawang, stated that the investment achievement was supported by a strong industrial ecosystem. Currently, 352 companies operate within 117 classifications of Indonesian Standard Business Classifications (KBLI) in the creative economy subsector across the region.
According to Abas, the creative economy investment value in Karawang reached Rp4.46 trillion, or approximately 8.31 per cent of West Java Province’s total creative economy industrial investment recorded at Rp53.3 trillion. This data references records from the West Java Investment and Integrated One-Stop Service Office for 2025 and results from a reconciliation meeting of all tourism office heads across West Java held on 3 March 2026.
The applications subsector emerged as the largest investment contributor, reaching Rp3 trillion. Investment in this subsector was dominated by global technology companies and large-scale digital infrastructure enterprises, including PT Amazon Data Services Indonesia, PT Microsoft Operations Indonesia, PT Datacenter Indonesia Sukses Makmur, and PT Allage Milenial Indonesia. The development of the creative economy subsector in Karawang Regency has demonstrated positive trends throughout 2025, with investment figures reaching Rp4.46 trillion.
