Applications opens for young global citizens camp
The British Council Indonesia is opening applications for 10 young participants, aged 18 to 25, from Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Vietnam and the UK to participate in an intercultural camp on mutual understanding and cultural identity in Davao City, the Philippines, which is to be held from Jan. 16 through Jan. 25, 2006.
The 10-day camp, comprising youthful activities, interaction and cultural exchange is geared to empower young leaders to operate more effectively as catalysts for positive change through better mutual understanding of one another's cultures and identities.
Activities will include visual and performing arts, music, literary and oral traditions, role play, debate, brainstorming, team building exercises, trekking, sports, community immersion and institutional visits. The British Council will provide transportation and accommodation for successful candidates.
