Apple's Rumoured iPhone Fold to Use Layered Glass to Reduce Screen Creases
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Apple’s first foldable phone, named iPhone Fold, is reported to use multi-layered glass as a protector to reduce creases on the screen. According to a report from Gizmochina on Monday (23/3) local time, citing information from technology tipster Digital Chat Station, Apple’s foldable screen is likely to employ a dual-layered glass structure made from UTG (Ultra Thin Glass) and UFG materials. This design can help address one of the biggest problems with foldable phones, namely durability. When a foldable phone is folded thousands of times throughout its usage life, pressure around the hinge can gradually cause visible creases in the middle of the screen. The rumoured screen may also be equipped with a type of self-healing glass, where the screen surface can gradually become smooth again over time, thus remaining looking cleaner even when frequently folded.
