Apple Smart Glasses Launch Reportedly Delayed to Late 2027
Apple is reportedly delaying the launch of its smart glasses, which were previously expected to arrive in 2026, with the introduction now anticipated for late 2027. According to a report from Engadget citing Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman, the device, known by the codename N50, is undergoing development schedule adjustments.
Previously, Gurman estimated that Apple would launch the smart glasses in late 2026, followed by the first shipments starting in early 2027. However, with the launch pushed back to late 2027, the product is expected to become available in stores and online channels only in 2028. This delay also provides additional time for Apple to integrate the next generation of its virtual assistant, Siri, powered by Apple Intelligence technology. The updated virtual assistant is expected to become available this year and could potentially serve as one of the primary features of the wearable device.
Despite the delay, Apple is said to remain committed to entering this segment. According to Gurman, the company sees the potential for smart glasses not merely as a smartphone companion, but also as a health device. Apple is reportedly exploring the use of augmented reality (AR) technology to help enhance users’ visual capabilities through the device.
