Apple Sets Date for WWDC 2026, Promises AI Advancements
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Apple has set the date for the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2026 on 8-12 June 2026, both online and in-person at Apple’s headquarters in Cupertino, California. Reported by TechCrunch on Monday (23/3) local time, the iPhone manufacturer promises AI advancements along with updates to the operating systems across all Apple product lines, such as iOS, macOS, tvOS, and watchOS. For developers wishing to attend the conference online, Apple will broadcast it via the Apple Developer app, the Apple website, and the Apple Developer YouTube channel. Meanwhile, developers in China can access the event through the broadcast on the Apple Developer Bilibili channel. Apple is expected to launch a new Siri with advanced AI capabilities, and in early 2026, sign a deal with Google to use Gemini to support AI features on its platform. This year’s WWDC may finally feature the updated Siri with better personal context and on-screen awareness. At last year’s conference, the company announced the Apple Foundation Model framework with an AI model that can work offline, and it may announce further advancements during this year’s event. The company has also brought models like ChatGPT for coding to Xcode. Earlier this year, Apple introduced agent-based coding tools like Anthropic’s Claude Agent and OpenAI’s Codex to Xcode.
