Apple prepares to develop fitness tracker in bracelet form
Apple is reportedly preparing to develop a fitness tracker in a new form, this time in the shape of a bracelet.
With a design different from a smartwatch, this means Apple would be introducing its first screenless fitness tracking device. According to a TechCrunch report on Tuesday (22/9), if this move is pursued, Apple will be competing with the US-based fitness technology company Whoop, which also offers a similar bracelet product.
Bloomberg was the first to report this news, stating that the iPhone manufacturer is currently conducting a “technology investigation”. As the name of the initiative suggests, this is an exploratory effort to decide whether they will fully develop and release the product. It is believed that several prototypes have already been developed in relation to this product.
Apple has been quite active in releasing innovations within the fitness tracker industry through the Apple Watch. Its capabilities include tracking sporting activities, heart rate recording, sleep monitoring, and other categories.
This report emerges at a time when Apple is undergoing a leadership transition. As is known, Tim Cook will step down from his position as CEO in August 2026 and will currently act as executive chairman, while the new CEO, John Ternus, takes over leadership control.
Despite these various changes, Apple has promised a series of new devices, including a new foldable phone, new tablets, and new MacBook Pros.
