Jakarta (ANTARA) - Technology company Apple is reportedly set to launch its first touchscreen MacBook on 27 October 2026.

According to Engadget on Thursday (8 October) local time, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman said the date for the debut of the first touchscreen laptop was not a completely certain announcement date, but was still an estimate for users awaiting the product’s launch.

Rumours about a touchscreen version of Apple’s high-end laptop have been circulating since 2023. More recent discussion suggests the device will have a dynamic interface that adapts to different input modes.

Alongside the touchscreen laptop, anonymous Bloomberg sources said Apple’s presentation is expected to include a redesigned iPad mini with an OLED display, as well as minor updates to the 14-inch MacBook Pro and entry-level iMac to add the new M6 chip, which is making its debut in an updated Mac mini.

The entry-level MacBook Pro currently uses the M5 chip, while the iMac still uses the M4. This is not Apple’s only announcement scheduled for this month: the company is also due to introduce a new collection of smart home devices on 13 October.

The packed schedule follows the summer debut of Apple’s first foldable phone, the iPhone Duo.
