Apple Opens Fifth Developer Academy in Indonesia, Located in Jakarta
Apple has officially opened the fifth Apple Developer Academy in Indonesia, located in Autograph Tower, Jakarta. The educational programme is being operated in cooperation with Universitas Ciputra.
In its inaugural cohort, the Jakarta Apple Developer Academy has enrolled over 100 aspiring developers and entrepreneurs from various regions across Indonesia. Starting next year, the academy’s capacity is targeted to increase to over 200 participants annually.
With the presence of the new academy in Jakarta, by 2026 the total of five Apple Developer Academies in Indonesia is estimated to accommodate more than 700 participants from 77 cities and 27 provinces.
Participants will undertake a 10-month learning programme using Apple’s characteristic challenge-based learning methodology.
In this programme, participants will develop various essential skills, including coding, application design, artificial intelligence (AI), and project management.
Head of Apple Developer Academy Jakarta, Ryan Tjandra, stated that the new academy’s presence not only expands access to world-class technology education but also strengthens the community of digital innovators in Indonesia.
“Each academy represents not only an expansion of access to world-class education, but also the growth of a community of innovators shaping the future of technology in Indonesia,” Ryan said in a statement to KompasTekno.
He added that participants are expected to develop digital solutions to address various real-world issues in society whilst also creating broader global impact.
Apple first opened an Apple Developer Academy in Indonesia in 2018 in Tangerang.
Since its launch, the programme has graduated nearly 3,000 developers by December 2025. Approximately 95 per cent of graduates are known to be employed across various industry sectors, including education, fintech, transportation, and sustainability.
Additionally, approximately 80 per cent of graduates have obtained full-time employment in application development fields, including as programmers, application designers, and product managers.
Meanwhile, graduates who chose the entrepreneurship path have launched over 250 applications on the App Store and established nearly 100 technology startups in Indonesia.
