Apple has officially unveiled the Apple iPhone 17e, the most affordable model in the iPhone 17 lineup. Although pitched as an entry-level model, the handset still carries a number of notable upgrades, ranging from the use of the latest A19 chip to MagSafe charging support. According to Antara, on Tuesday (3 March 2026), the iPhone 17e is powered by the A19 chip, the processor that previously debuted in the iPhone 17 line. The device is also equipped with the latest generation 16-core Neural Engine, optimised to run large generative models, thereby enhancing on-device artificial intelligence processing capabilities. In addition, Apple has included a new generation C1X modem, previously used on the iPhone Air. The modem is said to offer cellular connectivity speeds up to twice as fast as the iPhone 16e. Ceramic Shield 2 also features anti-reflective technology helping reduce glare, ensuring the screen remains comfortable to use outdoors. With MagSafe, users can enjoy magnetic wireless charging up to 15W using an adapter of at least 20W. By comparison, the iPhone 16e supports wireless charging up to 7.5W. For wired charging, Apple claims the iPhone 17e’s battery can reach 50% charge in around 30 minutes. Its battery life is said to reach up to 26 hours of use. The iPhone 17e also supports a new generation Portrait mode equipped with Focus and Depth Control features, allowing users to adjust depth effects after the photo is taken more precisely. The price is the same as the 128GB variant of the previous iPhone 16e. Apple offers three colour options for the iPhone 17e: black, white and soft pink. For pre-orders, Apple opens pre-ordering from Wednesday, 4 March, with official sales in stores starting on 11 March 2026.
