Appearance of Rp 2.8 Billion in Cash in Drug Case of Former Bima City Police Chief
Former Bima City Police Chief Didik Putra Kuncoro has been handed over to the Bima District Prosecutor’s Office along with a number of pieces of evidence in the narcotics trafficking crime that ensnared him. Among them were bundles of cash in Rp 50,000 and Rp 100,000 notes, wrapped in plastic. The Head of Public Information for the West Nusa Tenggara High Prosecutor’s Office, Muhammad Harun Al Rasyid, stated that the money amounted to Rp 2.8 billion. “That money is related to the narcotics crime case. It is not a money laundering offence,” Harun said on Thursday (18/6/2026). The money was packed in five clear plastic bags. The suspect Didik obtained the money from two different drug dealers, namely Erwin Iskandar alias Koko Erwin and A Hamid alias Boy. “From Boy it was Rp 1.8 billion and from Koko Erwin it was Rp 1 billion,” he stated. In this drug trafficking case, suspect Didik is charged under Article 114 paragraph (2) in conjunction with Article 132 paragraph (1) of Law Number 35 of 2009 on Narcotics, in conjunction with Article II paragraph (11) of Appendix II in conjunction with Article 82 paragraph (3) of Appendix III of Law Number 1 of 2026 on Criminal Adjustments, and Article 137 letter a of Law Number 35 of 2009 on Narcotics, in conjunction with Article 20 letter c of Law Number 1 of 2023 on the Criminal Code, in conjunction with Appendix II of Law Number 1 of 2026 on Criminal Adjustments. “(He is detained at) Battalion C of the NTB Police Mobile Brigade in Bima City,” he revealed. Previously, investigators had handed over several other suspects in this case, including Herman, Yusril Ismahendra, Anita, former Bima City Police member Irfan alias Carol, and former Bima City Narcotics Unit Head Malaungi. Didik’s involvement in drug trafficking was uncovered following Malaungi’s arrest. Malaungi was revealed to be part of a drug trafficking network starting from the arrest of Irfan alias Carol and his wife Anita. At the time, Carol was a member of the Bima City Police Integrated Police Service Centre. The NTB Police Narcotics Directorate and the Professionalism and Security Division then examined Malaungi, who was still serving as Head of the Bima City Police Narcotics Unit. On 3 February 2026, Malaungi underwent a urine test and the result was positive for amphetamine and methamphetamine. Officers also found evidence of 488 grams of methamphetamine stored by Malaungi at his official residence. The methamphetamine was obtained from a dealer named Erwin Iskandar alias Koko Erwin. Malaungi also admitted to receiving Rp 1 billion from Ko Erwin, which was to be given to Didik Putra Kuncoro, who was then serving as Bima City Police Chief. In addition to Ko Erwin, Malaungi also received Rp 1.8 billion from a dealer named A Hamid alias Boy. That money was also to be given to Didik Putra Kuncoro. The NTB Police also named Didik Putra Kuncoro, Ko Erwin, and A Hamid alias Boy as suspects. Didik was also named a suspect by the National Police Criminal Investigation Directorate for possession of methamphetamine and psychotropic substances.
